Many medical alert companies offer similar services - so check for third party recommendations and for firms with no long term contracts that you can cancel at any time. Dont get locked in. check out http://www.medicalhomealert.com to start.

There's no point in getting a medical alert system with a company that's not going to be as invested in you as you in them. Contracts are implemented for your security. If you have a contract with a company they must uphold their commitment to you. A contract is your price protection so you’re guarantee a fixed cost and the company can not raise their monthly charge or implement hidden fees like other companies do without contracts.
Also, I would recommend a large, secure, company that has it's own dispatch center that way you're sure to receive the best service out there. With a contract and dispatch center on corporate site you will have peace of mind and price guarantee.
